Springfield Airport Authority to Host Groundbreaking for the
Commencement of Major Facility Upgrades

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS…….The Springfield Airport Authority, owner and operator of the
Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, will host a groundbreaking ceremony commencing the
beginning of two significant airport improvement projects.
Who: Springfield Airport Authority Officials, City and County
Officials, Stellar Aviation Representatives and Construction
Contractors
What: Groundbreaking for General/Business Aviation Facilities and
associated terminal complex parking lot and roadway
improvements
When: Wednesday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Outside at the south end of Parking Lot C near the red/white
colored airport beacon light mast. Enter Capital Airport Drive
from J. David Jones Parkway/N. Walnut/Illinois Route 29.
Proceed to the four-way intersection then turn left (south).
Look for blue signs with white letters directing you to Stellar
Aviation and the General Aviation area.
